About Split River Quilts

Long Arm machine quilting is my specialty. I take pride in my workmanship, taking extra special care of your quilt while it is in my possession in my non-smoking studio. All of my work is completely hand-guided. I offer fast turnaround with all over machine quilting designs - quilts completed within two weeks time. I keep my pricing reasonable and feature many machine quilting patterns to choose from! Although I do not use pantographs, the designs that can be achieved are endless – if you have any ideas feel free to let me know what you have in mind for your quilt! All of my quilting is custom work with a great deal of input from the quilter – and the quilt itself.

How does my service work?

Just send us your completed quilt top, quilt backing and quilt batting if you have them or go to our backing and batting page to order them. Some suggestions for patterns can be found on my quilting patterns pages, or I can choose a machine quilting pattern for you. Complete an order form from my machine quilting order form page, (just print the page, complete it and enclose it with your quilt).

Other Services Include: Quilt binding

I primarily provide a quilting service for people that love to piece the tops but just don't have the time or space to do the quilting. I can turn that quilt top into a beautiful keepsake to be passed down for generations to come.
I have been in love with quilts for over 25 years from the time my grandmother taught me hand piecing and quilting using retired clothing scraps! I finished that quilt, and it remains hanging in my studio as a pleasant reminder of her and the special gift she passed on to me. Each quilt has it’s own story, and the time and expense choosing fabrics and lovingly piecing each is something I appreciate – and it gives me great pleasure to make each top a “complete piece”.
I know what fun piecing the tops can be but finishing those quilts can be hard, never mind all of those new projects you want to make. I want to let you know that if you need help finishing up those projects, I’m always here to help. Know that when your quilt is with me I will care for it as if it were my own.
Any questions you may have for me please e-mail me. I check my e-mail every day so I can answer any questions promptly. Or you could just give me a call at 1-208-756-1955
Below are brief descriptions and pricing information for some of the various quilting styles offered by Split River Quilts. Please e-mail us with questions.

Finish that quilt top that is pieced together and tucked away in a closet
Bring that family heirloom that Grandma never finished quilting and I'll quilt it for you quickly and easily on my Long Arm quilting machine. Need a quilt done in a hurry? Send it to me where it will get the prompt personalized attention it deserves! My average time to complete a quilt is currently less than 2 months. Charges for quilting are based on square inches of your top. Multiply the width x the length to get the number of square inches. For an example, let's figure your top is 72" x 90" which is 6,480 square feet.

Remember that you will always know up front exactly what your charges will be before I begin quilting your top.

Once I see your top, I will be able to give you an exact price before I begin quilting. Likewise, it is sometimes difficult to compare charges from one longarmer to another because what one quilter considers dense quilting, another may not consider dense quilting at all. If desired, I will send you pictures of work representative of my quilting plan for your quilt.

I also have a great selection of hand and machine quilted quilts for sale. I also have unfinished quilt tops for sale.
Tell a Friend about Split Rivers Quilts…… When I ship or deliver your quilt I put a business card in with it. Just write your name and phone number on the back of the card, give it to a Quilting friend and tell them to send or bring it along with their quilt to be quilted. Each card that comes in with your name on it earns you 10% off your quilt. So if three friends bring in cards with your name, you'll be getting 30% off your next quilt. That's savings that adds up just for telling a friend about a good thing. To our Senior Citizen customers you will always receive a 10% discount on your quilting.

Option 4: Miscellaneous Services

  • Basting in preparation for hand quilting - Yes, I do that! Fee is ¾¢ per square inch.

  • Completing UFO's (unfinished objects) - I do that, too! Customers sometimes ask me to finish piecing or to assemble quilt blocks that they have discovered at auctions or in Grandmother's attic.

  • I charge an hourly rate ($20/hour) for this service, and would always want to discuss such a project with the customer first. Please feel free to call or email me.

  • I offer many choices and price ranges to suite your individual needs. Turn around time depends on current schedule (the machine is never empty) and complexity of your choice.

  • All quilts are carefully measured, pinned and basted to the machine keeping quilt measurements in tact. Quilts will lay flat and will be square when complete. I guarantee all my work not only to your satisfaction but to mine. I have been known to remove stitches when the results did not meet my expectations.

  • So many of my customer's enjoyed having their small quilts done that due to popular demand I have re-instated my policy of no minimum quilting fees. I charge the base fee for the type of quilting and a $10.00 set up charge on quilts smaller than 45 x 60. Turn around time for these small quilts will be the same during off peak times such as the summer months however will vary during the rush of the holiday seasons.

  • Quilts can not exceed 115" in Width.

Q: What if I’d like a quilting pattern that I don’t see on your pattern library page?

A: Please call or e-mail me with your ideas! It’s highly likely that I can design something similar for you. Do you love making quilt tops, but hate the thoughts of wrestling them through your sewing machine to quilt them yourself? I understand.
Maybe you don't quilt, but you have your grandmother's antique quilt top packed away and would love to have it completed so that you can enjoy it. I would love to do that for you. Maybe you don't have any desire to make a quilt yourself, but want to have a special quilt made. I can do that for you. Whether it be a quilt for a special occasion, such as a wedding, birth or anniversary, a special "memory quilt" made from a loved ones clothes, or that quilt you've always dreamed of out of fabrics you love, I can create a beautiful quilt to your specifications. I can even design it in a quilt design software program and show you what it will look like before I ever start sewing.
Whatever your quilting needs, I strive to do the best work possible and treat every quilt as if it is my own. Your quilt will get my individual attention and will never leave my studio till it is returned to you. I look forward to assisting you in any way.

Like most quilters we were taught by our mothers, who were taught by our grandmothers the love for quilting. We have several quilts that have been passed from generation to generation that mean more than words can explain.
Our grandmothers would sew by hand, quilts out of old clothing and then quilt by hand.

Many old and antique quilts are still unfinished, either due to disrepair or inexperience on how to finish the quilt. I have experience quilting and repairing antique quilts. These types of projects are a labor of love! I know how much your antique quilt means to you and I will endeavor to work with you to finish/restore it without taking away from the original workmanship.

If you would like more information, please send me a description of the quilt to finish or damage to repair, along with your contact information and I will phone you to discuss! I offer custom machine quilting services to those who make quilt tops and don't care to quilt them. I can help you turn any quilt top into a finished quilt. We can make the most of your creation and help you get your quilts out of the closet and onto a bed or a wall.
